Recap of the 2025 Commencement

We celebrated the inspiring achievements of our 460 master's and doctoral students at Lincoln Center with a twilight sendoff.

Commencement faculty speaker Cathy N. Davidson delivered a powerful message to the graduates, echoed from her own former professor and esteemed poet Gwendolyn Brooks — a call to “Live in the along” and embrace joy, connection, and unique purpose in uncertain times. “You're not alone in the world. You're always alongside someone or something ... Our society needs you. There is so much work for all of us to do ... For your fierce and joyous future. May you always live in the along.” Cheers, graduates! 🎉
