Coaching

As a Personal Branding Coach, I help women and femmes in creative fields & academia bring their best work to life and show up with clarity and confidence.

Why I Became A Coach

Being a graduate student of color and working as a radio producer in New York City at the height of the pandemic truly tested me,

But these experiences also yielded creative confidence and resilience, while reinforcing my belief in the tremendous power of storytelling, creativity, community, and accountability.

I decided that I wanted to help women who were in similar positions — ambitious women & femmes working as creative professionals and/ or as scholars in academia — to finish big projects, get clarity around goals & next steps, and share their work with the world, so I enrolled in an ICF-accredited training program and graduated as a certified coach in 2025!

I bring my experiences in media storytelling, higher education, and journalism into this work, alongside a deep commitment to client empowerment, active listening, and meeting people where they are.

Notes from Previous Clients

“I cannot thank Carolyn enough for the incredible support she provided. From the very beginning, she helped me organize my thoughts, providing a clear structure for my ideas. Her ability to ask the right questions sparked a wave of creativity, clarity, and passion that helped me move forward confidently. What truly set her apart, though, was how she prioritized my wellness throughout the process. Given my health issues and need for rest, she always made sure my well-being was top of mind. I'm so grateful for her holistic support and guidance! Carolyn is truly a gem of a coach.”

— Alex, New York

Working with Carolyn was truly transformative. Her kind, caring, and positive energy created a safe space where I felt fully heard and supported. She helped me uncover and shift deep-rooted limiting beliefs that were holding me back in my life coaching business. Through her thoughtful guidance, I gained clarity, confidence, and a renewed sense of trust in myself to go after my goals! Each session left me feeling empowered and more aligned with my vision. I’m so grateful for her presence and the impact she’s had on my journey.”

— Lauren, Colorado

  • Coaching, therapy, consulting, and mentoring all support client growth, but in different, distinct ways:

Coaching is future-focused and collaborative process, helping clients to achieve their goals and take action. Coaches assume that the client is the expert on their own life and that they have solutions and answers within themselves. We ask powerful questions to help unearth inner knowing.

Therapy focuses on psychopathology, emotions and the past to understand the present, and helps clients develop skills for managing emotions or past issues with the goal of healing or regaining functionality. This may include medical diagnoses or interventions.

Consulting focuses on providing businesses or individuals with the expertise that you have as a subject matter specialist. Consultants identify problems and then offer solutions.

Mentorship is future-focused but directive wherein a more experienced individual shares their knowledge, expertise, skills, experience with less experienced mentees.

Each of these containers are valuable and can support the work of another when occurring (working with a coach and a separate therapist, e.g.). If at any time, you may require a different level of care, I can make trusted referrals.
